Federal health agencies have not recognized ivermectin as an effective treatment for patients with COVID-19. According to Dr. Leland Stillman, the reason is more political than scientific, because otherwise there would be no basis for lockdowns or vaccination mandates.
“If public health and academia recognized ivermectin as a drug that treats acute viral diseases, one of which is COVID-19, all excuses for lockdowns, mandates, not to mention research and development of vaccines, would evaporate overnight. ,” Stillman told The Epoch Times in a recent interview.
Under Section 564 of the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (pdf), the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) may issue an emergency use authorization only if certain criteria are met, including “lack of adequate, approved, and an affordable alternative to the product.
Therefore, if there is an approved alternative, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) — an agency within HHS — cannot issue an emergency use approval for COVID-19 vaccines.
Stillman said it’s not a conspiracy theory or even an isolated belief that ivermectin works to treat COVID-19 because tens of thousands of doctors around the world have recognized its effectiveness.
Frontline COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance (FLCCC), a non-profit organization working on treatment protocols for patients with COVID-19, considers ivermectin to be the primary drug used to prevent and treat COVID-19. Its website cites 142 studies, of which 93 are peer-reviewed and 75 are comparisons of experimental and control groups demonstrating the effectiveness of ivermectin.
However, the FDA has repeatedly stated that “currently available evidence does not show that ivermectin is effective against COVID-19.”
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has directed The Epoch Times to contact the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for the treatment of COVID-19. The NIH referred to its online guidelines for ivermectin: “There is insufficient evidence from the COVID-19 Treatment Recommendation Panel to recommend either for or against the use of ivermectin for the treatment of COVID-19. The results of adequately designed, well-designed and well-conducted clinical trials are needed to provide more specific, evidence-based recommendations on the role of ivermectin in the treatment of COVID-19.”
Stillman explained why many doctors are silent about the recognition of ivermectin as an effective treatment for COVID-19, the disease caused by the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus.
“And the reality that it’s really important for people to understand is that doctors can lose their licenses or board certifications, which is very important for their income based on insurance rules, for speaking out the way I decided,” Stillman said.
Stillman said he could speak out because he is one of the very few doctors in the country who take cash and don’t deal with insurance companies.
After graduating from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, Virginia, Stillman currently practices medicine in Kissimmee, Florida. Two eminent scientists, Martin Kulldorf, formerly a professor at Harvard Medical School, and Jay Bhattacharya, professor of medicine at Stanford University, also explained why many scientists remain silent on this issue as well.
In an article published in The Epoch Times last month, two professors said the NIH and its National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), which is headed by Anthony Fauci, oversee a billion-dollar research budget each year, and “direct funds spent for research, to nearly every known infectious disease epidemiologist, immunologist, and virologist in the United States and Great Britain.” Therefore, it would be unwise for scientists to upset these health agencies.
“There’s a lot of politics in this,” Stillman said, referring to the COVID-19 vaccine mandate. “And the way it has been politicized is really shameful and regrettable. At the end of the day, it’s all about how these corporations are making huge profits from the pandemic.”
Stillman said that freedom is the way out of the current problem.
“Freedom is an absolute solution,” Stillman said. “Because if you really let doctors treat patients on their own terms, without insurance companies, without all that stuff, it can be very affordable and it can be very effective.
“Because the reality is that most medical care is provided right now, it is simply provided based on some bureaucrat’s idea of what a good drug is, not based on what patients really want and think they are. worth it.”
