Every year, on the third Tuesday of September, the Netherlands celebrates Prince’s Day. The main event is the official opening of the parliamentary year. There the king gives the speech of the Crown. It is one of the most colorful dates in the official Dutch calendar, full of tradition, where royals use centenarian carriages, bathed in gold, and wear their best jewelry. This year, in addition, Prince’s Day had a special seasoning: for the first time, the participation of Princess Amalia, the heir to the throne of Orange, who turned 18 last December.
