Innovation to lay the foundation for a business entrepreneurial activity that is taking its first steps. That’s the bet of Ocai Optics, a local business that opened only a week ago in Don Sancho Commercial Way, offering home services by appointment with the aim of relocating an area of the population already in need.
«In my accumulated experience in the field before working as an employee in an optician in Madrid, I felt a great need and demand to attend to the elderly and people with reduced mobility or limited disabilities. We have a portable device and a professional to perform a complete and personalized optometric study, visual and low vision therapy and retinography at home. No one offers this service and we think it is something positive”, explains Maria Arroyo Blanco, owner of the optician.
Teams of optometrist opticians with extensive experience are in charge of advising on the best visual solutions for each case. “From the very beginning we try to differentiate ourselves with distinct advantages, try to go where others do not go, as there is huge competition with franchisees who can offer aggressive prices,” They told.

For this, Ocai Optical Laboratory has the sanitary registry number 34-E3-0012 and prior appointment to arrange the service can be requested via telephone 979 640103 and 660 975831, as well as by email email@example.com with.
Ocai also offers a collection of frames from the best brands in the market. « We have some very eye-catching designs that are hard to find at other establishments. The aim is that our customer can choose from both eyeglasses and sunglasses that best suits their personality and style. There is great competition in this sector and very aggressive prices,” says María Arroyo.
Young and innovative entrepreneurs say that the professional optical profile responds to a young team of innovative character. “We love promoting new trends, we are very passionate and involved in our work,” he says.
Starting a business of these specialties is a very significant challenge. «It is difficult to compete on prices with the big franchises who have many promotions on frames, lenses and contact lenses. I believe there is room for all here, you can complement each other and competition helps improve the service. We work with Vista Óptica Group and we also get some discounts with their own brands and that helps a lot,” he says.
María Arroyo believes that local commerce should be promoted and fights to continue offering new things. With a solid training in optics several years ago, the young entrepreneur from Palencia concludes that “after working abroad for a long time it is always good to return home and the acceptance of customers is greatly appreciated”.
