India beat England by five wickets in 3rd ODI
India defeated England by five wickets in the third match of the three-match ODI series played at Old Trafford, Manchester. Batting first, England were bundled out for 259 runs in 45.5 overs. In reply, India had lost four wickets for 72 runs at one point. Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav had returned to the pavilion. After this Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant together turned the match. Both of them put on a 133-run partnership for the fifth wicket.
Hardik Pandya scored 71 runs in 55 balls. At the same time, Rishabh Pant remained unbeaten on 125 runs in 113 balls. This was his first century in ODIs. Thanks to the innings of these two, the Indian team achieved the target in 42.1 overs. Ravindra Jadeja also remained unbeaten on seven runs. Pant also hit five consecutive fours in the 42nd over of David Willey.
With this victory, the Indian team also won the three-match ODI series 2-1. India won the first ODI by 10 wickets, while England won the second ODI by 100 runs.
