- India beat Windies in first T20 match
- Dinesh Karthik, the hero of victory, was the player of the match.
India vs West Indies Series: The Indian cricket team started with a win in the five-match T20I series against West Indies. In the very first match, Team India defeated Windies by 68 runs. Dinesh Karthik, who played an unbeaten innings of 41 runs off 19 balls with 2 sixes with the help of 4 fours, was adjudged the player of the match.
Even after the victory, former Indian captain Krishnamachari Srikkanth looked very angry. His displeasure was with Team India’s coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma, who made Deepak Hooda, who was in excellent form, out. In his place, Shreyas Iyer was given a chance in the playing-11.
‘Most all-rounders are better in T20’
Former Indian selector Srikkanth and former Indian cricketer Pragyan Ojha were talking to broadcaster Fan Code. Meanwhile, Shrikant said, ‘Where is Hooda? He is a great player in T20 as well as in ODI. He is the kind of player who should be there (in the team). In T20 cricket, you need to understand that you need all-rounders. Batting or bowling, be it as many all-rounders as possible, that is fine for you.
Srikkanth furious over Ojha’s reply
To this Ojha said, ‘Rahul bhai believes that if a player performs for you first, then support him. After that go to the second option. Here Srikkanth interrupted Ojha and said, ‘We do not want Rahul Dravid’s thinking. Your thinking is needed now. just give.’
Here the Ojha smiled a little and said on the question of Shrikant, ‘Hooda to be there. Absolutely Hooda. On this again Shrikant says, ‘That’s it. finish’
