INE gives the starting signal for the 2024 election process

The National Electoral Institute (INE) has officially started the election process for 2023–2024, in which more than 20,000 public offices at the national level are being renewed, including the presidency of Mexico.

The President and Advisor of the INE, Guadalupe Taddei Zavalaled a civic ceremony attended by PRI leaders Alejandro Moreno, Jesus Zambrano, and Mario Delgado from Morena.

The INE is ready to organize the most complex federal elections in our recent history and thereby fulfill its state function,” said Taddei Zavala.

According to the presidential adviser, the electoral institution has the institutional solidity, integrity, and conviction necessary to face the 2024 elections “with a deep democratic vocation.”

He said the success of the electoral process depends on the participation of citizens, not only at the ballot box but also in the organization and execution of the day.

The INE has installed 170,000 boxes across the country, with more than 500 million ballots for 98 million voters.

Important dates of the 2024 elections

  • On November 5, 2023, the Pre-campaigns, which end on January 3, 2024,
  • Registration will take place from January 1st to January 31st, 2024, on the election platforms.
  • Candidates for the presidency must submit their applications from January 6th to February 19th.
  • The event takes place from February 15th to 29th Registration of presidential candidates
  • On March 1st, the Bells Choice, which ends on May 29th,
  • It will be from May 30th to June 1st.
  • On Sunday, June 2, 2024, there will be a presidential election.
  • October 1st will be the inauguration of the new president of Mexico.
