The Institute of the National Housing Fund for Workers (Infonavit) announced support for people affected by Hurricane Otis in Acapulco and other areas of Guerrero.
The director of Infonavit, Carlos Martínez Velázquez, reported that the payments of all loans in the affected cities of Guerrero will be suspended for up to 6 months.
“What is important to us is to inform people that their credits are suspended, any collection action is not possible, regardless of the credit status, it is suspended for the next six months.”
“Rest assured that they will complete the insurance process, they will go without worrying about the increase in their credit because there will be no interest,” he said at a press conference.
With this measure, more than 39 thousand people in Guerrero (33 thousand from Acapulco and 6 thousand from other cities) with Infonavit Credit will benefit.
And this represents an estimated economic support of 838 million pesos.
