A desire to provide quality foods with high nutritional value for the little ones in the house led Erinn Hampton to start an organic baby food brand called Little Bear Foods.
Her son Luca was the one who encouraged her, because when they started their adventure with the addition of solid foods, they realized that in Costa Rica there was no option with no preservatives, no additives, and no added sugar that could guarantee an organic diet for their baby. and of quality.
The proposal provides a balanced offering that counteracts the products commonly found in supermarkets and convenience stores, which tend to be laden with chemicals, sugar, and artificial ingredients.
“I knew I wasn’t the only mom who wanted a nutritious food option for my baby. So, unable to find a product that suited me, I started making my own. We strongly believe in the power of food and the impact it has on our health, especially when it comes to our babies, as it is very important to teach them a balanced and quality diet from an early age,” Hampton said
This entrepreneur says she usually drinks smoothies and natural juices every morning and has started sharing them with Luca.
Little Bear Food’s first recipe was a banana and spinach smoothie that also included coconut milk, almond butter, and hemp seeds.
The brand currently offers six different flavors, including a seasonal specialty.
All products offer a mix of fruits, vegetables, healthy fats, and fiber.
It’s not just a healthy snack; it’s a deliciously flavored, nutrient-dense food that counteracts the rise in blood sugar and keeps little ones feeling full and satisfied for longer.
“Our products are not only an excellent source of nutrition but also practical. They are simple snacks that you can pack in a lunch box, take to the beach, for a hike in the mountains, on a road trip, or on any other trip. They are all made from 100% organic ingredients, with no preservatives, no additives, no added sugar, no GMOs, no dairy, and no gluten. Our products are heat-protected to kill harmful bacteria, which also gives them a shelf life of 6 months.
Little Bear Foods started in her kitchen, and when she was 100% satisfied with the recipes, she began selling those products, which sold out of stock in the first three days of each week.
After three months, their business idea and demand continued to grow, so they decided to move operations to a subcontractor kitchen and form a team of specialized employees to produce in larger quantities.
“I get messages every day from moms thanking me because their little boy or girl liked something nutritious and healthy. “They are messages of emotion and relief and are the best sign that we are doing things right at Little Bear Foods,” he concluded.
Currently, its products can be found in Auto Mercato, Green Center, Mercadito Central, Jinca Market, Mama Toucan, Gastro Pub, and VIP BAC Lounge at the airport. Also, they are sold at children’s playgrounds such as Magic Steps and Live Arts Academy.
It is also possible to place an order online through your Instagram profile or through WhatsApp, with deliveries throughout the national territory.
In the short term, they hope to be able to offer their colados and smoothies in all major supermarkets in Costa Rica and later in Central America.
In addition, products for children and babies at different stages of growth are gradually being introduced.
