After it turns out that Google has trademarked the ‘Pixel Watch’, leaked images of the smartwatch have surfaced, giving us a glimpse of what it will look like. Check what we know.
Google Pixel Watch Leaked: This week saw some major developments for the long-rumored Google smartwatch. Finally we know what its name will be. It was revealed through a US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) application that Google has trademarked the ‘Pixel Watch’ for its smartwatches and smartwatch accessories. While the trademark does not reveal any further details of the device, some leaks have also surfaced that show the smartwatch design and what we can expect from it. If you want to know what has been revealed by these leaks, read on.
Google Pixel Watch Leaked: Details
The leaks have come to light from an undisclosed source whose validity cannot be confirmed. So, take the information with a pinch of salt. As reported by Fone Arena, the Pixel Watch is a circular watch with a slightly raised display. There are two buttons, and a physical crown at the center which gives the smartwatch a tailored appeal. It’s not clear what the Buttons or Crowns can do, but it is believed that the buttons can be used on/off the screen or as shortcuts for certain apps. The crown is hard to locate, but may be kept for aesthetic purposes.
The back of the Google Pixel Watch has a black frame, which apparently houses the health-tracking sensor. According to the source, the bottom of the Pixel Watch has a smooth finish and “looks metal but feels like it’s coated with glass”. This would make it similar to the Apple Watch, which also has a glass back.
According to the Google Pixel Watch leak, while the leaker wasn’t able to turn on the device and check the user interface, he was able to confirm that the watch didn’t have a charger and could instead charge in its case. There was no image with the strap attached to the watch face but according to the leak, there appears to be a Google proprietary technology for snapping into the band. The band also appears to be a Google-only product, and the source claimed that it looked like it was made of a jelly-like substance. This means that the Google Pixel Watch will not be compatible with any of the bands.
It is expected that the Google Pixel Watch will be launched at the I/O event month and will be launched around October along with the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro.
