“It’s hard”: Pollo Valdivia gave the details of Claudia Conserva’s documentary about her fight against cancer

It will be during the next few weeks that TVN will premiere the long-awaited documentary by Claudia Conserva, Good. The powerful and intimate audiovisual production will portray the cheerleader’s fight against cancer, in which Juan Carlos “Pollo” Valdivia was a key support.

The driver was one of the guests of the recent installment of Can we talkwhere he talked about his wife’s state of health and also referred to this new project.

In this sense, Jean Philippe Cretton asked him why he wanted to record his intimate experience of struggling against complex diagnosis.

“I think Claudia intended to get distracted, but to leave a record. And there’s a little macabre for us as a family,” the driver of Show Toc.

“The call and the message…”

Along the same lines, she added: “You are in the midst of enormous pain, with the uncertainty of what is going to happen here. So I thought ‘why do you want to stop this?’ And she said ‘I want it, I need it, as a communicator I want to leave my testimony of what I’m experiencing’”.

Similarly, Valdivia confessed that the documentary “is tough”.

“Why did you do that? It’s very much his, he’ll answer. But if you ask me, I think it has to do with leaving a message and it has to do with prevention,” she explained.

The driver also recounted that “Claudia was very disciplined in that sense, she rigorously took the exams and this allowed her to be able to deal with the disease faster and with better tools because it was more incipient (cancer). Perhaps at another time, or a few weeks later, the story might have been different.

“The call and the message, through his generosity, is to show what the disease is like, with all that is terrible that goes beyond hair loss, but has to do with chemo, which is terrible, it is destructive, very strong,” Valdivia said.

“He had the courage to apply discipline, food and hours as well. So that integrity and that discipline allowed him to go through that and he turned it into a documentary to leave a testimony. What happens is that it seemed macabre to us that if it wasn’t over, or it wasn’t lost, we would be left with that and that pain,” he continued.

Claudia’s husband then confessed that “the times he records me I am always very upset because we were experiencing a process of uncertainty. So it was very complex to tell a story because this is a record that she made with her cell phone, there were no cameras, she was recording herself, a self-portrait in the background.”

Finally, the driver shared some strong words about what he’s been through with Claudia over the past few months.

“I became a nurse and I say it very happy. I dedicated myself to her, I just worked and I came back, I took her to the clinic as many times as I could, I accompanied her to all the tests, to all the treatments and that was what had to be done, I never questioned. It’s the most ‘dramatic’ way to show how much you love someone,” concluded Pollo Valdivia.

It is worth mentioning that TVN has confirmed that Brava will premiere next Thursday, May 11th.
