A social person accused of killing the chief police officer in Belize said in a new interview that the gun she was holding “just fired” and that she does not remember “touching” the trigger.
Jasmine Hartin, 33, shared the report on the murder of supervisor Henry Jemot in May 2021 at the seventh meeting with Pierce Morgan, which will be broadcast in its entirety on Monday.
“I don’t remember ever touching that trigger on a gun, so I don’t know what happened, to be honest,” said Hartin, whose ex-husband is the son of billionaire Lord Michael Ashcroft, in an interview, an excerpt from the Sun.
“I tried to take out the clip and it just fired – I don’t remember ever touching the trigger. So I’m not sure if it was a faulty weapon or not. “I really can’t tell you how it went,” she said

Hartin told Morgan that the police chief suggested she get a firearms license and allowed her to handle his gun for the second time in a few days to practice loading and unloading weapons.

Hartin denied rumors that she and Jemot were romantically connected, calling him a friend he met Andrew Ashcroft. She said Ashcroft should have joined them on deck before he decided to stay at the last minute.

She also dismissed speculation that she was a party girl who used cocaine extensively.

When Morgan mentioned her ability to handle a gun, stating that she smashed a watermelon with a rifle that was recorded on the video, Hartin insisted that she was not an expert and that she never owned a gun.
