New member of Kia’s EV family. In this case we are talking about the EV5, a 5-seater electric SUV smaller than the EV9 that will be launched in Europe in 2024. It will be launched in China for the first time in November.
New rival for the Volkswagen ID.4, the Peugeot e-5008 or the Toyota bZ4X, among others. This is the Kia EV5, a model for families that the Korean brand showed us as a prototype a few months ago and that is now showing its final lines.

It will be the manufacturer’s third electric SUV after the EV6 and the innovative EV9, which will be launched in October. Especially on the latter, the Kia EV5 is closer in design, including the interior with the two dashboard screens placed side by side, the steering wheel and the central air vents.

The concept vehicle’s rear-view cameras have disappeared in favor of mirrors, as have the opposite doors, which have been replaced with classic handle doors. Two models of complete two-tone wheels will be presented, one with a triangular design in the central part and the other with a star design.
Kia EV5, like in the living room at home
It stays true to Kia’s signature ‘Tiger Face’ design line and features a wide front end and generous bonnet. A spoiler stands out at the rear, which helps to improve the aerodynamic efficiency of the model.

The interior is very spacious. The brand ensures that in concept and execution it resembles a living room at home rather than the interior of a traditional car.

The passenger seat extends to the driver’s seat, giving a feeling of continuity.

For the ambient lighting, Kia offers up to ten brightness settings, customers can choose from a total of 64 color options and automatically adapt to the driving mode and ambient light. When activated, the ambient lighting is synchronized with the vehicle’s driving modes and can, for example, trigger warnings if the driver is exceeding the speed limit.
The Kia EV5 is based on the Hyundai Group’s modular E-GMP platform. With a length of 4.62 meters, a width of 1.88 meters, a height of 1.72 meters and a wheelbase of 2.75 meters, it presents itself as a “zero emission” alternative to the Sportage, although it is 10 cm shorter.

At the moment there is no official information on the versions that will be launched, nor any technical data on the new electric.
The commercialization of the Kia EV5 in China is announced for the next month of November. The arrival in Europe, not yet formalized, is expected for the second half of 2024.
