Kim Kardashian revealed that she relied on the advice of one of her sisters when it came to finding the right time to introduce her boyfriend, Pete Davidson, to her four children.
The SKKN by Kim founder, who shares North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm with her ex Kanye West, spoke to Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie on Tuesday’s Today about why she decided to wait six months until the big meeting.
“Fortunately, I have a sister who went through all of this and we talked about it,” Kardashian said, apparently referring to her older sister Kourtney, who has been co-parenting with her ex Scott for years. Disick.
“I’ve consulted with several therapists and friends who have been through this,” the reality star added. “I definitely wanted to wait six months. And it was a marker.
But, in her opinion, the ideal formula for building a new relationship with children does not exist.
“I think it’s different for everyone,” Kardashian explained. “Different things work for different people, but you just have to do what you feel is right and try to be as respectful and careful as possible.”
Kotb and Guthrie also asked the Skims creator if her new relationship with the former Saturday Night Live star caught her “by surprise.”
“That’s right,” Kardashian replied with a smile, but said she also “waited a while” before jumping into something new.
“I waited a good 10 months before I was ready to open,” she said. “And I think you definitely need that time for yourself. And then when you were ready to go out there, I felt like I just needed a new energy and something else. And it definitely took me by surprise.”

Kardashian opened up about the hardships she and her family faced during her marriage to West, now named Ye, on a recent episode of the Kardashian reality show Hulu.
“I’m aware of the impact my relationship has had on my family and that I’ve never had the opportunity to just say, ‘Sorry guys,'” Kardashian said during an episode that aired in May.
“I can’t control how he treats me or how he always treated you guys,” she added. “I’ve been defending this for so long, but I said, ‘I’ll never let this happen to you guys.’ For the first time in my life, I feel strong. I won’t let anyone treat you guys like that or me.”
