The German company KOSTAL inaugurated in Mexico the FINSA III Industrial Park in Querétaro, its first plant in North America for power electronic components for the production of electric vehicles. The construction of the 20,000-square-meter facility, which constitutes the company’s fourth plant in Mexico, was carried out in less than a year and is focused on clean and sustainable operations.
The factory, where on-board chargers (OBC) for electric vehicles will be produced, is the second plant of the company in the municipality of Querétaro and will have 750 new jobs. “This is an important investment for KOSTAL and an important investment in North America to bring our technology to manufacturers of electric vehicles,” said Andreas Kostal, owner of this transnational company that has 53 locations in 21 countries and is dedicated to electronics, power electronics, comfort, and driving controls, supplying almost every major car manufacturer in the world.

said the owner of the company with more than 100 years of existence, which in North America has 3,600 employees in five locations, including its North American headquarters in Troy, Michigan, and facilities in Alabama and Mexico, where this year it celebrates 50 years of operations.

Also present at the opening ceremony were the general director of KOSTAL Automotive, Kai Knickmann, and the CSO of KOSTAL Automotive, Tino Naumann, as well as local and state authorities, such as the governor of the State of Querétaro, Mauricio Kuri González; the Secretary for Sustainable Development of the State of Querétaro, Marco Antonio del Prete Tercero; and the Head of the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare of the State of Querétaro, Liliana San Martín Castillo, and others.
