Christmas just isn’t the same without the lights, that’s for sure: lights inspire and provide warmth during these holidays. And they attract tourism, if you don’t ask Vigo. But what about the cities? A few years ago, at this time we were waiting to announce the winner of the competition. on ‘Together we will be brighter‘, Ferrero Rocher’s iconic Christmas campaign. As you saw two years ago the inhabitants of Peñíscola and last year the Andalusians from Mójacar, winning this competition means that the chocolate brand will be in charge of lighting up the whole town. And how it shines! It’s not much of a story…
Well, for Christmas 2023 we just found out that La Alberca, undoubtedly one of the most beautiful towns in Salamanca – or the most beautiful – has become the winner of the tenth edition of ‘Together let’s shine brighter’.
CHRISTMAS OF LIGHTS
The official statement indicates that La Alberca, a small great asset of our heritage, located in the heart of the Sierra de Francia, attracted voters is one of the most beautiful towns in Spain. No doubt they were right, because time seemed to stand still for centuries among its streets. In addition, as a curiosity, it was the first town to be declared a Historic-Artistic Site of Spain (in 1940).
When Christmas comes, its beautiful architecture typical of the Sierra de Francia, with roads
cobbled and balcony houses will undoubtedly look more than special this year.
The Ferrero Rocher contest highlights that “the participation and great mobilization in the Sangguniang Panlungsod, the institutions and the residents of the area, became the key to get the highest support. The municipality has taken various initiatives to become the winner of the competition. Social networks are flooded with photos, videos and hashtags of La Alberca, with the participation of tik tokers from the area. In addition, the city council hides Ferrero Rocher chocolates every day in different areas of the city and reveals different signs in the form of verse through social networks. Neighbors, from the youngest to the elderly, walk the streets in search of these golden treasures.”
