AMLO calls on Palenque to unite forces and resources in the face of migration

Through his social networks, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador assured that the meeting of delegations from the region “is a call to unite forces, will and resources to address the causes of the phenomenon of migration.”

Within the framework of the meeting “For a Fraternal Neighborhood” the president of Mexico insisted that this is a humanitarian issue so they must work together and come together to provide solutions.

The meeting will take place this Sunday at the Visitor Service Center in the archaeological zone of Palenque, where representatives from 11 Latin American countries will participate, which in one way or another are affected by the migratory phenomenon.

Through the social network This is a humanitarian issue where we must work together. President, presidents and prime ministers: count on our cooperation in all that is needed.

The Mexican president accompanied his post with a photo where he was with the presidents of Honduras, Xiomara Castro, Colombia, Gustavo Petro; Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel; from Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro; as well as the Prime Minister of Haiti, Ariel Henry.

It is expected that after the work in Palenque, the foreign ministers of the participating countries will offer a conference where they will announce the agreements reached in this meeting.

On the other hand, while the access to the Palenque airport is blocked by citizens who demand works for their lands, the air terminal is guarded by elements of the Federal and State Forces.
