Members of the group of “the 300” and the Autonomous Social Associations and Companies of the Mexican Republic (SAEM) continued six blockades of the main streets of Ecatepec to demand that the authorities of the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) to continue against the leaders of the transport of various organizations that have claims of extortion against them.
Since 8 in the morning, several groups of transporters have been stationed in various roads on the routes connecting Ecatepec; taxis and buses from San Agustín and Branches of the State of Mexico and route 55; as well as garbage truck drivers, motorcycle drivers and businessmen.
First, they blocked the Texcoco-Lechería federal highway with their units in both directions at the junction of Resources Avenue and the Circuito Exterior Mexiquense.
They continue through José López Portillo above Guadalupe Victoria; Via Morelos at the points of San Cristóbal and Puente de Fierro. The fifth group on the Mexico-Pachuca highway above Vigilante, however, a sixth blockade emerged on Avenida Central and Río de los Remedios.
At all the road closures they set up checkpoints and several banners that read: “We demand a real investigation. Except for the false extortionist leaders.”
The blockades caused thousands of motorists to get stuck and unable to reach their destinations. Transport users have to walk several kilometers to find alternative transport.
“We are against false leaders of other organizations who extort money and have complaints against them; “We ask FGJEM to go after the real extortionists.”
“The extortionists are Grupo Uson and the 2 de Octubre union, Mayas and GTD dedicated to extortion and have investigative folders and they are protected,” they said.
They stated that they will continue the blockades until the state authority intervenes to resolve their demands.
