The Attorney General’s Office (FGE) reported that Patricia Jaqueline González Salgado, a prosecutor’s agent at the Regional Prosecutor’s Office of Coyuca de Catalán, Guerrero, was found alive last night. Caliente de Guerrero, from where she had been abducted by armed civilians.
The agency said in a press release issued at midnight that “Patricia N. was found alive and well in Coyuca de Catalán this evening.”
He mentioned that “she is under medical and psychological care and that the appropriate procedures are being carried out to hand her over to her relatives”.
He stressed that elements of the Ministerial Police, the Mexican Army, the National Guard, and the State Police were involved in the search operation.
On the other hand, the state government reported that three indigenous people, two men and one woman, originally from the new municipality of Santa Cruz del Rincón, Costa Chica de Guerrero, lost their lives in an accident in the city of La Fátima, municipality of Ayutla de Go Libres.
The indigenous people, supporters of the new community, were returning from Chilpancingo, where they were protesting outside the gates of the State Congress, when, around 7 a.m., the vehicle they were traveling in ran out of brakes.
At least a hundred tribal people have been protesting since last Monday, marching and shutting down local congressional facilities. They demanded an explanation from MPs for their refusal to approve the new city government.
