Luis de La Fuente has announced the appeal of the Spanish football team for the next Euro Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Cyprus. The main novelty of the “La Roja” list is the inclusion of the new “pearl” of FC Barcolona, ​​​​​​Lamine Yamal.
Also present alongside Yamal are youngsters Lex Baena, a midfielder from Villarreal, and Abel Ruiz, a forward from Portugal’s Braga, who has been a capper in all lower categories and has already played twice for the senior team, in a match against Lithuania in June 2021, in which the U21 national team played due to COVID-19, and against Georgia three months later.
Regarding the Nations League list: Jess Navas, with discomfort; Jordi Alba, who has announced his departure from the national team; Nacho Fernández, who replaced David Garca and Fran Garca; Sergio Canales, now Mexican in football; and Ansu Fati, who also replaced Nico Williams, Rodrigo Moreno, and Jeremy Pino before the tournament. Other players like Pedri González or Dani Ceballos are also not available due to injury problems.
Both David Garcia and Nico Williams, who were called up for the Nations League but were unable to play due to injury, as well as Alejandro Balde and Pau Torres, returned to the national team.
