Little Mix sings through their tears in emotional final show before break

The emotional members of Little Mix struggled to sing through tears at their final performance before “taking a break” from the band.

Oaklist Perrie Edwards, who said she had a “persistent lump” in her throat, started crying within minutes of the show.

Long segments of “Between Us” were silent as Edwards – with bandmates Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock – appeared to turn their microphones to the audience.

Edwards pleaded for help from the crowd at London’s O2 Arena before singing.

“It’s about our journey, it’s about our love for each other, and we never get over it without crying,” she said.

“Can you help us sing it next?”

The trio now intends to focus on solo projects after “10 wonderful years” together, although they insist that Little Mix is not splitting up.

None of them mentioned the group’s founding member Jesy Nelson, who left her in the hospital in 2020 after a breakup.

Nelson revealed in October of last year that she was not in talks with her former bandmates, but added that “there was no bad blood on my side”.

Thanking the crowd – some of whom even had tears in their eyes – Edwards said in a faltering voice: “Each one of you has made such a big impact on our lives and if it wasn’t for you we wouldn’t be standing here.” Would have been

“I need to get my shit together, I’m so sorry.”

He then performed the band’s next song, “Happiness”.
