The 2023-2024 season of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP) is approaching and with it the emotions that shake the fans of the country. The eight teams will face the last week of preparation for a new challenge in the national circuit.
Navigators Magallanes and Tiburones de La Guaira played preseason matches at the Ramón Pérez Arocha Stadium in Charallave, Miranda state. That’s where Luis Blasini, the ship’s sports manager, just spoke to Meridiano to announce the team’s plans for the next harvest.
One of the biggest unknowns for every team is the starting rotation. Almost a week separates us from the celebration of baseball in Venezuela and the technical staff is still adjusting the details and fixing their pieces to determine what will be the group of pitchers that will step up to the plate in the first innings of the game.
“In the first two games, Erick Leal will pitch on the opening day and the second one will be Enmanuel De Jesús. Then on Monday, we have a rest and on Tuesday the rotation restarts”Blasini confessed.
This means that Leal and De Jesús will occupy the first two spots on the starting line. In that sense, the outlook is starting to clear for the Turkish team.
Nivaldo RodrÃguez is one of the pitchers looking to win the secondary spot, but Emmanuel seems to have won the spot with his performances in practice. In addition, he recently made his debut in the Major Leagues with the Miami Marlins and in Triple A he left a record of 5 wins and 5 losses, 48 earned runs received, 52 walks negotiated, and 70 strikeouts given up in 92.0 innings of work.
