On Wednesday WhatsApp messaged Mauricio Macri It is full of messages for his birthday. But one, among dozens, stands out: Patricia Bullrich I send him good wishes for his day. The former president considered it a personal and political gesture of reconciliation. He thanked her from Villa La Angostura, where he travels every week with his family.
In this framework, Macri and the Minister of Security have a pending meeting to discuss the future of the PRO. The former head of state has the idea of leading the party after more than four years with Bullrich at the helm. This dialogue has a direct relevance: the openness needed by President Javier Milei and the organic agreement of the yellow party with the ruling party.
However, despite the statements, no meeting has been officially called yet. What’s more, all the voices of the PRO reveal that the issue has just begun to be discussed in private meetings and that not everyone agrees with the large-scale landing of the leaders of the Executive.
Of course, Macri already put a limit on a possible agreement in November, when he met alone with the newly elected president, Milei.
Anger and anticipation in the provinces: confused, the governors meet this week
At that summit, the former president left a paper with suggestions from the officials. Above those commands is Cristian Ritondo, head of the PRO bloc, whom he asked to lead the Chamber of Deputies, a strategic place where political experience is key to managing 256 legislators of all kinds and colors.
This same request is what remains in Macri’s head today: any agreement with La Libertad Avanza must start from the lower house. The experience of the omnibus law, the former head of state believes, makes it clear that the PRO—where 37 deputies voted for all the articles unanimously and a part of the changes in the project—is ready to go with.
In this framework, in the internal libertarian discussion, Guillermo Francos, the Minister of the Interior, who only a few weeks ago met alone with Ritondo after challenging him, the consultant Santiago Caputo, and above all, Karina Mileia, a product of his connection with Lule Menem, Martín’s cousin, who was chosen to lead the Deputies,.

However, the PRO’s internal debate has just dawned. The unanimous consensus, according to the former president, is that Ritondo replaced Menem in control of the lower house.
Although some names for the positions began to be discussed, none of those mentioned received any offers. Not María Eugenia Vidal for Anses, Guillermo Dietrich for Infrastructure, or Diego Santilli for Interior.
This does not mean that, within the framework of a mega deal with the ruling party, it does not end with the executive. But now that scenario is not even remotely visible. There is not even a date for a meeting of the yellow numbers in the short term.
