In this phase, voting has been held for 11 Municipal Corporations, 36 Nagar Palikas and 86 Nagar Parishads. In these elections, a direct contest between BJP and Congress is being considered. This is the reason that the Congress is looking cautious about the disturbances from now on.

Congress has stationed its senior leaders in different areas. Former CM Kamal Nath himself is taking command to stop the disturbances. Congress said that Kamal Nath’s helicopter will be standing ready, every attempt of BJP to create disturbances will be foiled.

Voting for these 133 seats in the first phase was held on July 6. During this 61 percent people had exercised their franchise. Out of 61 per cent polling in the first phase, Ratlam, Dewas and Agar Malwa recorded more than 80 per cent voting, while in Bhopal only 51 per cent voters exercised their franchise. Indore and Ujjain recorded 76 per cent and 76.60 per cent polling, respectively.

This time the civic elections in Madhya Pradesh have been held in two phases. Voting for the first phase was held on July 6. Whereas the second phase of polling was held on July 13. While the first phase of counting is being done on 17th July i.e. Sunday, while the second phase counting will be done on 20th July. In the first phase, votes were cast for a total of 133 municipal bodies, including 11 municipal corporations, 36 municipalities and 86 municipal councils. In the second phase, people have voted for 247 bodies.
