Manola Diez explained that her son underwent seven surgeries but failed to restore his vision.
The actress from Monterrey returned to the screen thanks to Hotel VIP. During a reality show, he opened up and talked about one of the most difficult moments of his life: his son’s accident that caused him to lose his eyesight.
Manola Diez, a former Big Brother VIP, clarified that she doesn’t talk much about the issue because it was very painful: “And it’s not that it’s still like that, but they are wounds that are for always remain in your heart.”
Manola opened up and shared that her son had a house accident in Cancun while she was taping a soap opera.
“He had a house accident in Cancun. I left, I was with my husband, I still had to go back to Mexico City because I had to finish recording two scenes for a soap opera,” she remembers.
The famous woman explained that her little sister asked him for some gelatin, he went into the kitchen and tried to open the gelatin with a knife but it stabbed him in the eye.
“He was asked for a jelly and there was Max, completely innocent, he was six and a half years old. Then he tried… he grabbed a small wooden spiked knife and tried to open it like that, then he saw that it wasn’t and stabbed it all the way in,” he commented.
Through tears, Manola explained that it was very difficult. She noted, “Mom told me I took it out, I just held my eye in my hand,” she commented.
Manola Diez’s son managed to move forward after the accident; She has had seven operations but has not regained her vision. “She has learned to live with it, because not only that, but also the circumstances that have arisen as a result,” commented the actress from Class 406, The Patrona, among others.
Manola Diez clarified that her relationship with businessman Roberto López later ended because they did not know how to deal with the situation: “My husband and I did not know how to deal with the accident and that was partly the thing that separated us.”
It should be noted that Manola Diez previously said in a meeting with the press that the reason why she put her career on hold for so many years was her son’s accident, as she was focused on taking care of him.
