The far-right candidate for the presidency of Argentina, Javier Milei, for his part, assured that they would be “historic” elections and asked for the support of the voters of the conservative coalition Together for Change to defeat Massa on November 19.
“Making the best election in history for liberalism in Argentina fills us with pride,” said Milei, who stressed that he was able to form his movement in “only two years” and on Sunday he got 40 representatives and eight senators.
“All of us who want change must work together,” he said. “In all these months the campaign has made many of us want a change into a confrontation,” a confrontation he wants to end for the future.
“I’m ready to make a blank slate, shuffle and strike again with the goal of ending Kirchnerism”, he announced, “because beyond our differences,” he said, “what we need to understand is that we have a criminal organization in front of us.”
Milei accused the followers of the vice president and former president (2007-2015) as follows, Cristina Fernandez, in defense of “populist ideas” and will be part of a “Government of criminals who want to mortgage” the future “to stay in power” and “deepen the decline (of Argentina).”
“Today we are facing the most important election in the last 100 years,” Milei said, insisting: “There has never been a clearer choice in our history.”
The former president Mauricio Macri (2015-2019) flirted with the possibility of supporting the libertarian candidate, even though he is part of Together for Change. The candidate of this conservative formation, Patricia Bullrich, relegated this Sunday to the third position, did not clearly support Milei, but refused to congratulate Massa.
Milei took the stage to give her speech accompanied by the song “In November no matter the cost, in November we must win!” of his followers, who this Sunday also sang him “Happy Birthday” on his 53rd anniversary.
