Metallica is preparing to celebrate its 40th anniversary.
The best-selling Bay Area band of all time will host four days of concerts, organized live performances and other events in San Francisco from December 16-19.
The two biggest events in the Metallica San Francisco Takeover calendar will take place when the multi-platinum group takes over the Chase Center in San Francisco on two evenings – December 17 and 19. Both concerts are already sold out.
However, those who missed out on boarding tickets for Chase concerts can still check out some of the other fun events on the list.
The party kicks off when Metallica buddy White Reaper, who appeared on the band’s latest tribute album, Blacklist, will perform in August Hall on December 16th. Taipei Houston is also on the agenda. Show time – 8:30 pm, tickets – $ 25, augusthallsf.com.
Next night (December 17) will bring some really cool triple headline Goodnight, Texas, Bastardane and the headliner Wedding Present with Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist Robert Trujillo to the Fillmore. Apparently, Wedding Present will take the stage later – after Hammett and Trujillo have finished playing with their other band at the Chase Center that same night. Show time is 10:00 pm, tickets are $ 39.50, livenation.com.
There will be tons of cool shows and stuff like that on December 18th. One of the best choices is saxophonist Kamasi Washington (another Blacklist contributor) at August Hall. Show time – 21:00, tickets – $ 55.
Other Metallica events on December 18 include the AMC Kabuki 8 Film Festival and gallery screening, autograph session and Q&A with photographer Ross Halfin (who recently released the photobook “Metallica: The Black Album in Black & White”) on various sites. sites in San Francisco.
