Mexico ended transit authorization for migrants through the Aztec country after Title 42 was deactivated by the United States. Andres Manuel López Obrador, the president of the Aztec nation himself, explained the new measures adopted by his government this weekend. The President confirmed that the INM has also ordered all immigration offices not to issue multiple immigration forms. Nor can they issue any other document authorizing transit through the country.

Temporary shelters close their doors

There are 14 types of accommodation which still allow a maximum stay of 48 hours. Meanwhile, 19 Type Bs remain, providing shelter for a maximum of seven days. Officials have indicated that the suspension of these premises will be in effect until the National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) concludes its current visit. This is the supervision of all facilities. Then you have to issue your report on the migration flow in Mexico.

Regarding the current measure, INM warns that large-scale ransoms may violate human rights. At present there is no place to accommodate foreigners.

“The transfer will be done immediately, either by land or air. In all cases, they have to be accompanied by three immigration agents,” the INM said.
