More and more companies see ARM processors as interesting for their products. It’s not just Apple, Amazon for their AWS servers, and Google, they already have ARM-based systems. Something that should worry Intel, but in a big move, it seems that the company will in the future manufacture the chips that, so far, ARM only license.
Processor specific to Windows 12
We know Microsoft’s intentions for several recently published job offers. They seem to want to create ARM processors specific to Windows 12. This should be double: develop solutions for your operating system and its optimization on the other hand, they run on any system with ARM architecture chips.
We must know, before proceeding, that there are big differences between ARM and Intel, and AMD processors. The most important is that ARM is based on RISC, a reduced instruction set. Intel and AMD are based on CISC, which is a more complex instruction system.
Microsoft would be looking for a Principal Systems Architect at Chip Silicon, Principal Design Engineer, Pa Rincipal Physical Design Verification Engineer, and a Director of CAD Integrity Manager at Silicon Power. They want to create their processors and we believe that improves their Windows 12 compatibility.
In the offers you can read that these workers will be at the “forefront of computing.” It also indicates that they will work “with various multifunctional groups to offer an innovative and high-performance silicon SoC.” They would be interested in competing against Apple.
We imagine that behind this is their development of new surface systems, especially. These devices are yet to take off and the company would like to promote them. They currently use Intel processors but would like to abandon those in favor of their chips.
One of the aspects that they would be working on for these chips should be implementing AI hardware. Note that Windows 12 will be an operating system very focused on this technology, where it will have a lot of weight. And that’s it Microsoft is the main openAI Shareholder.
What do we know about Windows 12 so far?
There is little information at this time that we know about the company’s new software. Rumors point to a release next year, something that would mean that Windows 11 was one of the company’s shortest operating systems.
At this time, Windows 10 is already seen for sentencing. The company has already said that it will only add small improvements, optimizations, and security patches. Major developments must be centered on Windows 11 and its next operating system.
From what we see, W11 would be very similar to Windows 8, a bridge operating system. But all this is speculation because we do not have much reliable data. The company tries not to leak anything or the minimum.
