The National Superintendency of Migrations reported since foreign citizens, who are currently in Peru in an irregular migratory situation, will be able to ask for amnesty after the Executive has promulgated a decree that grants them the possibility of exempting them from sanctions if they regulate their situation.
This amnesty, approved by the Congress of the Republic, mainly applies to foreigners with fines for failure to carry out the residence extension procedure or for excessive stay; moreover, to those sanctioned for the infringements referred to in Article 56 of Legislative Decree 1350.
It also applies to those who have proceedings in progress or with installments of penalties.
The deadline for requesting an amnesty is six months, which cannot be extended..
Since when can they ask for amnesty?
Foreigners who have fines imposed since May ask for an amnesty from Tuesday 2 May, virtually through the Digital Agency of migrations without the need to go to the institution’s offices.
How to request it?
The foreign person who wishes to benefit from the amnesty must request it through the Digital Agency of migrations https://agenciavirtual.migraziones.gob.pe.
Once the application for admission has been submitted amnesty The certificate will be sent to the previously stated email.
The request for amnesty does not regularize the immigration status of the foreign person that he must perform or continue with his procedures based on immigrant status, i.e. to obtain immigrant status, extend his stay or apply for a new CPP when this permit comes into force.
