Coin ATM Radar shows ATMs and in operation around the world, these metrics indicate that in February 1,662 Bitcoin ATMs were terminated, according to a report published by the portal on March 7.
The report shows that the month of February began with 38,765 active ATMs worldwide, and at the end of the metric, there remained 37,757; which shows the closure of 1,662 ATMs, and the opening of another 656 ATMs, which closes the last month with a decrease of 2.6% in the month.
The same report specifies which countries withdrew these ATMs: Austria, which started with 125 and closed the month with 124; Ireland started with 17 and finished with 16; New Zealand only had an active offline banking machine.
The United Kingdom started with 24 ATMs a month, and closed with 22; Brazil, which has recently been very active with CBDC, started the month with 19 and 9 disconnects in the month; Ukraine on its part closed 2 ATMs and went from 14 to having only 12 active; and finally, the United States had only 33,706 cases and 32,615 cases, which had the most disconnected regions for 30 days.
On the other hand, the report shows that Australia is the most active country with 37 new devices (15.3% increase). Then there is Georgia, which added new devices (18% increase) and ends in Canada, which has 18 new factories (0.7%). They also say that Norway got the first Bitcoin banking machine. The purchase of the machine is located in Oslo.
Despite these closures, the ranking of countries with the largest number of active Bitcoin ATMs in the world continues to be the United States with 32,615; followed by Canada with 2,586 and in third place by Australia with 279 operational ATMs.
