In the operation, people from outside this prison were arrested, who will be investigated and placed under the orders of the competent authorities.
The Sectoral Vice President for Citizen Security and Peace, A/J Remigio Ceballos Ichaso, offered a general assessment of the development of Operation Gran Cacique Guaicaipuro at the José Antonio Anzoátegui “Puente Ayala” Penitentiary Center.
He reported that “56 short arms, 12 long weapons, 130 knives, grenades, explosives, 77 magazines, and more than 33,500 cartridges of different calibers were seized, which were part of the elements of criminalistic interest” required for investigations.
In this sense, Ceballos Ichaso emphasized the participation of the Bolivarian National Police Corps (Cpnb); the Scientific, Criminal, and Criminal Investigation Corps (Cicpc); the Municipal Police; members of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB); and other state security bodies, as well as the continuous interaction of the different levels of government, to guarantee the peace and tranquility of the Anzoatiguense people.
“As indicated by our President Nicolás Maduro, used by the Great Quadrants of Peace Mission, this operation allows us to provide progress in the Penitentiary System with the transfer of 1,500 prisoners to other centers under the regime,” he repeated.
In the same way, he introduced the arrest of people outside this prison facility to be investigated and placed at the disposal of the competent authorities.
