The ‘Moya Dulce’ agri-food fair in Vila de Moya has been a complete success. The morning began with a parade of visitors browsing the various stalls located on Miguel Hernandez Street. They combined craft, zero kilometer products with works of art made by hand.
“It is a pleasure for us to see the city streets full of people. It is a way of publicizing the wealth of our municipality. We have combined activities, workshops and a show for the little ones with a tribute to Manny Manuel with a fair and music. And once again the Moya Dulce contest in search of the best dessert in the municipality has been a complete success”, highlighted Mayor Raul Afonso.
A day full of activities for everyone and everyone, in which they can taste the sweets that they presented in the competition, or the gastronomic products that were sold in the different stalls, some typical of the municipality such as biscuits, sighs, Cottage cheese or honey. Area councilor Belen Rivero said, “We are very happy with the response and acceptance the fair has received. It is the first weekend of the festival and the streets of our municipality are full.
The agri-food fair was combined with a competition for the best ‘moya dulce’ sweetmeat. Open to all kitchen helpers, the jury had a hard time choosing the winners after trying them all. From cakes to sweets, there was a variety of sweets that everyone could taste what they wanted.
Simultaneously, a show of ‘The Drillo Gang’ was taking place in the church porch, which enthralled all the children present and caught everyone’s attention with their antics. After the show ended, the award ceremony for the best dessert took place. The final straw came with a tribute to Manny Manuel that made everyone in attendance shake their hips. In the afternoon there is a traditional horse race.
Villa di Moya wants to party and enjoy San Antonio de Padua to the fullest and it is commendable in every event it organizes.
