There was a lot of activity inside the city on Friday night. More than 100 municipal officials took to the streets of the 11th District to clear sidewalks and public space occupied by so-called food trucks or food carts. He also monitored the activities of various nightclubs to ensure compliance with the rules.
The operation was in line with the Supervision Sub-Directorate of the Public Space Ombudsman. The data provided by the said department refers to the intervention of seven premises that will be penalized for failing to comply with the current regulations.
“We know that the city center takes on another dimension on weekends because of the nightlife. We are reinforcing the work for the safety and peace of the residents in this area and enforcing the permitted hours of operation,” the operation said. said Manfredo Borda, head of the municipal department that carried out the execution.
Borda stressed that these operations would be intensified every weekend and repeated in the areas with the greatest conflict in the city, such as Che Guevara Avenue and 16 de Julio. Furthermore, he requested the support of the Bolivian police to protect the integrity of officers and citizens.
As part of the campaign, the municipality cleaned all the food stalls and street vendors sitting outside these businesses. Apart from violating the rules for the sale of food, these food trucks create vehicular chaos in the area.
