Actress Natalie Anderson says she organized a surprise ceremony to renew her wedding vows that was so secret her husband James Shepherd didn’t even know what was happening.
The 40-year-old Emerdale and Hollyoaks star said the occasion, which took place just days before their wedding anniversary, was “I just dreamed it would happen”.
He said hello! The magazine had planned with their nine-year-old son Freddy, who had given his father a special letter, such as a scene from a romantic film.
The letter invited Shepherd, 50, to re-promise each other with Anderson at the ceremony, and read: “I love you and if you want to do the same, please meet me at the beach.” ..”
“How James didn’t know this was beyond me,” Anderson told Hello!.
“It was so magical and so intimate that we were all three.
“It was perfect and everything I dreamed would happen.”
The ceremony took place on May 28, a few days before the couple’s anniversary on June 6.
The actress wore a gown by Dutch bridal designer Modeca.

“I knew I wanted something that was simple, that I could wear without shoes, that was on the beach, with a beautiful silhouette and totally different from my wedding dress,” she said.
She revealed that she still has the 8ft cathedral train with the Pronovius silk and Swarovski-beaded and lace dress she wore to her wedding in North Yorkshire 14 years ago.
Along with parts from long-running serials, Anderson is about to make her big screen debut opposite Liam Neeson in the action-thriller Memory.
