Pennsylvania cops said a New Jersey man was arrested for extorting nude photos of two young sisters on TikTok.
Ryan Corcoran, 26, of Andover, was arrested on charges of possession of child pornography for allegedly asking 11- and 12-year-old girls to send him nude photos of themselves, first in private TikTok messages and then in text messages, according to the county of Montgomery County. Prosecutor’s office.
The girls’ father contacted the County Detective Bureau on April 20 when one of his daughters told him that she had sent a nude photo of herself to a typist, who was later revealed to be Corcoran.
Both girls also received messages from different phone numbers, presumably the 14-year-old sister of the first sender of messages, but in fact in both cases it was Corcoran.
Prosecutors confirmed that both girls were sent nude photos and asked to provide their nude photos.
Messages were exchanged between the two sisters from Montgomery County from April 17 to 20.
The investigation traced the sending of an SMS message to a phone number to Ad Hoc Labs, a service designed to hide a user’s real phone number. Law enforcement agents served the company with a subpoena and were able to trace the phone number and IP address of an account belonging to Corcoran’s father.
A search warrant was served at the New Jersey home, and Corcoran confirmed to detectives that the cell phone number belonged to him.
The phone numbers of both girls were found in the phone saved as contacts, in messages exchanged between the sisters, and in the original nude image sent to one of the girls.
“This defendant contacted random young girls on a social media site and offered to have them photographed in sexually explicit positions, clearly creating images of child pornography,” Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele said in a statement.
“This is another example that there are predators on the Internet trying to take advantage of small innocent children. Parents must always be vigilant to protect their children from these predators.”
Corcoran was charged with felony charges of child pornography, unlawful contact with a minor, molestation of minors, and criminal use of a communication device, the district attorney’s office said.
Following his arraignment on June 13, Corcoran posted a $50,000 cash bail and was released on the condition that he refrained from using the Internet and had no contact with minors.
He is due to appear in court at a preliminary hearing on June 27.
