New York State Player Wins Second Mega Millions Prize of $1 Million

James Holloman, from Onondaga County, New York, became the lucky winner of the second Mega Millions prize, which took home an amount of $1 million.

He won this prize after matching the first five numbers in the draw on November 17, 2023, which are 06, 12, 31, 33, and 69, with Mega Ball 17.

After paying the required taxes, Holloman received a one-time payment of $650,000.

The winner has a second option: to collect the entire million in small payments over 30 years.

Holloman purchased his prize ticket at Smokes 4 Less, located at 59 Plank Road.

The New York Mega Millions lottery not only made Holloman a millionaire, but during the 2022–2023 fiscal year, it generated sales worth $492.3 million.

In addition, Onondaga County school districts benefited greatly, receiving $150.3 million in education assistance funds provided by the lottery.

The New York Lottery, which sells Mega Millions and many other games, is the largest in the entire United States and provided $3.7 billion in fiscal year 2022-2023 to help the state’s public schools.
