This is a solidarity challenge in favor of the Spanish Association Against Cancer, especially for the research project carried out through the University of Extremadura and directed by Dr. Francisco Javier González.
The sports delegate, Toni MarÃn, presented this morning, together with the president of the Romanas Bike Club, Eva Jabón, and the treasurer of the Romanas Bike Club, Elena Collazos, presented this morning at the Marea Rosa Romana.
The sports event is a solidarity challenge in favor of the Spanish Association Against Cancer, especially for the research project carried out through the University of Extremadura and directed by Dr. Francisco Javier González.
MarÃn thanked Mérida Bike “for choosing Mérida as the end of the stage of the Acueducto de los Milagros; we will continue to support activities like this to see diseases like cancer.”
Jabón pointed out that “we want the income to go to an Extremaduran project, run by Extremadurans.” With this test, Extremadura will travel from north to south, covering more than 500 km of route, following all the Roman landmarks present in Extremadura.
The test is divided into 4 stages tomorrow, October 12, the first stage from Baños de Montemayor to Coria, on Friday, October 13 from Alcántara to MedellÃn, on October 14 from MedellÃn to Llerena, and on Sunday, October 15 from Llerena to finish in Mérida.
Each stage is divided into different sections that can be joined by all people, clubs, etc., who want to participate. Jabón explained that “we are doing fundraising on the link, https://sumate.mireto.contraelcancer.es/campaigns/ROMANAS-BIKE where people can make the donation they want/can do.”
Finally, they report that the club is on Facebook and Instagram as Romanas Bike, “where we upload all the information about the club and the challenge, and we make all the publications of the different activities we do,” Collazos pointed out.
The two stated that they are “happy and very excited about all the encouragement we have received from the whole cycling world in Extremadura. And we are very grateful for all the institutional support we have received as well.
