“In the name of the people and government of this Nicaragua, blessed, sovereign, and always free, we congratulate you on your re-election as president of the Republic of Azerbaijan and its people,” emphasized a message from the Sandinista government.
The text notes that Nicaragua is sure that, due to the continuation of Aliyev’s order, the families of Azerbaijan will contribute to dialogue and consensual solutions to world challenges.
“In the friendship that historically united us and that we continue to strengthen in these times of scientific, cultural, political-social, supportive, and complementary cooperation, we repeat our greetings and congratulations for your victory, wishing the best for your country and your country. People,” he concluded.
According to press reports, the head of the Central Electoral Commission, Mazahir Panahov, described the victory of Aliyev as resounding. He will take over the reins of the country for the fifth term.
The official reported that in second place is deputy and self-proclaimed candidate Zahid Oruj, with 2.19 percent of the ballots.
Meanwhile, the leader of the Great Creation Party, Fazil Mustafa, reached two percent of the votes, and the deputy and leader of the United Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan, Gudrat Hasangúliev, got 1.76 percent.
The other three candidates, the leader of the National Front Party, Razi Nurullayev, the leader of the Greater Azerbaijan Party, Elshad Musáyev, and the former self-proclaimed leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Azerbaijan, Fuad Aliyev, did not exceed one percent of preferences.
According to official data, the participation of citizens in the election was 76.73 percent, with the attendance of four million, 971 thousand, and 32 voters, which exceeded the percentage achieved in the 2018 election (74.5%).
