NLCS Game 2 reaction: Dodgers’ bullpen can’t protect late lead

The Dodgers stumbled again in the ninth inning Sunday night, losing 5-4 to the Atlanta Braves, and are now down 2-0 in the National League championship series to the best of seven.

The Dodgers deployed Game 4’s planned starter Julio Urias with a two-fold lead in the eighth inning, while the Braves leveled the score, 4-4 with some aggressive base running and some less-than-perfect shots from the Dodgers outfielders. Brusdar Graterol started at the end of the ninth inning before losing to Kenley Jansen with two strikeouts.

The game ended when Eddie Rosario scalded Jansen’s first serve down center, slipping off Corey Seeger’s shortstop glove and into midfield.

Austin Riley hit RBI games twice in the bottom of the eighth with Urias on the mound.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts explains the decision to go with Urias and Max Scherzer in 4-1 / 3-inning.
