No other address needed. Ridge Quilters Home Tour

Beautiful New Landscaping welcomes you to the recently built home of Diane Whitcomb.

As you enter the foyer you’ll see a quilt made of several house blocks. Each block is hearty. Hundreds of blocks were sent to Paradise Ridge Quilters to assemble and start our quilt collection once again.

You can see the house quilts in other homes on the tour.

As it is often said that the kitchen is the heart of the home.

The same can certainly be said of Diane’s kitchen. There are two new stoves in Diane’s kitchen. One is electricity and the other is gas. She prefers one over the other depending on what she’s cooking. Plus she will always be able to prepare food as power cuts are more prevalent. The kitchen design is a very functional U-shape with lots of cupboard space, rich navy blue counters and a bay window with a view.

Adjacent to the kitchen is the dining room with an open floor plan for living room. The living room has a vaulted ceiling with a floor-to-ceiling fireplace.

The dining room and living room both have large windows overlooking her new landscaping. Don’t miss the interesting mirror collection between the living room and the entrance.

Also be sure and pay attention to the waterfall faucet in the bathroom. Cheerful sewing studio sets in front of the house with another bay window. There’s a fun vintage ironing board and an antique Singer featherweight sewing machine that Diane bought new. Diane is a skilled seamstress and quilter. All his wonderful creations are sewn on 1950s featherweights.

She told her husband that if the house ever burns down – grab the featherweight first. That is exactly what happened!

Diane did a lot of medical shopping to make her new home feel like home again. The decision to rebuild after losing his home in the campfire was not a difficult one. There is no question about it. This was his home since 1957 and he did not want any other address.

Holiday Home Tour

Paradise Ridge Quilters’ Biennial Holiday Home Tour Held on December 4th and 5th from 10am to 4pm

This year is especially festive. Our Holiday Home Tour can be called creative flexibility.

Each of our homeowners lost their home in the campfire but they all had the same desire – they wanted to return to their hometown of paradise.

We feature four homes, two homes recently remodeled on the same property and two homes that were purchased that survived the fire.

In all their homes, they have made beautiful cheerful houses for their family and friends to create more pleasant memories of the holidays.

We are excited to once again share with you the spirit of our city and the spirit of the holiday season.

Tickets can be purchased for a donation of $10 at Honey Run Quilters, Bobby’s Boutique at 2418 Cohasset Road in Chico and 6264 Skyway in Paradise.

Masks are needed to protect you and us.

We look forward to seeing you all on our tour. Check out our articles featuring each of our homes in Friday’s editions of Enterprise-Record and Mercury-Register during November and December. For more information contact Kim at 530-872-8492.
