He really is a professional.
CinemaCon is known for being full of surprises, but this year, there was one that took the next level. When Olivia Wilde was in the middle of presenting the trailer of her new film, don’t worry darlingShe was intercepted by a process server, which handed her legal papers from her ex, Jason Sudeikis.

It was quite shocking, to say the least. But Olivia handled it like an absolute pro.

As she discussed her upcoming film, which co-stars Florence Pugh and Olivia’s current partner, Harry Styles, a process server approached Olivia and pushed a large manila envelope towards her on stage. The envelope read “Personal and Confidential”.

“It’s me, isn’t it?” Olivia said after receiving it. “Very mysterious. I’m going to open it now.”

“Is this a script?” he asked before taking a brief look at the documents inside and inside the envelope. “Okay, got it. Thanks.”

Apparently, the documents inside the envelope were about the custody arrangement between Olivia and Jason. The former couple share two children – 8-year-old Otis and 5-year-old Daisy – and ended their relationship in late 2020, after being engaged for almost a decade.

According to Jason’s rep, however, he had no idea that the papers would be served to Olivia in the middle of her presentation at CinemaCon. “Mr Sudeikis had no prior knowledge of the time or place that the envelope would be delivered as it would be entirely up to the process service company involved and would never condone him for serving him in such an improper manner, His representative told Variety.

The fact that Olivia was able to continue with an important presentation after receiving the custody papers — on stage in front of 4,000 people — is pretty incredible.

After receiving the papers, he simply continued with the introduction of his thriller, Envelope – and he never accepted it again.

It was seriously impressive.

Knowing this happened at CinemaCon – where attendees outside the film and TV industry have to buy badges for entry and all must be verified before their registration is approved – is also pretty wild. Going forward, the convention is making some changes to ensure that such an incident does not happen again.

The Managing Director of CinemaCon told E! News in a statement. “In light of this incident, we are re-evaluating our security procedures to ensure the safety of all our attendees.”
Neither Olivia nor Jason have publicly commented on the situation yet. But here’s hoping they are able to make things work.
