Only Fools and Horses star Patrick Murray has said that his lung cancer has been “cured” and the tumor in his liver is shrinking.
Eure, 65, who played Mickey Pearce in the classic BBC sitcom, revealed in January that scans had caught a cancerous lung tumor in its early stages and that he had an operation to remove it, followed by chemotherapy. .
Subsequent scans found another tumor in his liver that was not linked to his lung cancer and was also curable.

As you know, I was diagnosed with lung cancer last July. After an operation to remove the tumor in October, I had chemo to help prevent the return of the cancer.

He received transcatheter artery chemoembolization (TES), a minimally invasive procedure performed in interventional radiology to restrict the blood supply of a tumor.
Sharing a health update on Twitter, Murray said: “Thank you again for all your lovely messages. As you know, I was diagnosed with lung cancer last July.
“After an operation to remove the tumor in October I had chemo to help prevent the cancer coming back. During this chemo another tumor was detected in my liver.
“Luckily for me this cancer was not associated with lung cancer and was curable. I had a procedure called Tace to deal with it.
“Last Friday I saw my oncologist. He told me that the lung cancer was cured and the tumor in my liver was shrinking.

“It’s not over yet, but as you can imagine I’m over the moon with this latest news.”
Apparently referring to the annual Only Fools and Horses fan convention, he said: “Thanks to the wonderful doctors and nurses of our NHS, I look forward to being there at next year’s convention.”
It comes after John Challis, who played the unscrupulous second-hand car dealer Boyce in the beloved series, died of cancer in September 2021 at the age of 79.
Murray played Mickey as Rodney Trotter on Only Fools and Horses from 1983 to 2003 with David Jason as Del Boy and Nicholas Lindhurst.
