1519 – Hernán Cortés

Spanish conquistador Hernán Cortés enters Tenochtitlan, the capital of the Mexica Empire, where he is received with respect by its ruler Moctezuma II, who believes he is a messenger of the god Quetzalcoatl. Seven months later, in June 1520, Moctezuma II was assassinated after being imprisoned and forced to take an oath of allegiance to King Carlos V of Spain.

1793 – Louvre Museum

The Louvre Museum is inaugurated in Paris with art collections from the former nobility and ruling classes that become public property to be displayed throughout French society. It was a precedent and model for other European museums. The Louvre, one of the most visited museums in the world, houses about 35,000 works.

1847 – Bram Stoker

2022 – Municipal worker

The National Day of Municipal Workers is celebrated in 1959 to commemorate the date in which the Confederation of Municipal Workers of the Republic of Argentina was created.
