Customers arriving to pick up their prepaid meals on a bustling Thanksgiving morning at Foothill Boulevard’s Boston Market in Rancho Cucamonga were in shock.
The doors of the restaurant were closed. A sign outside read: “No employees showing up today… We are unable to fulfill orders! We’re sorry!”
Boston Markets is investigating why this happened, company spokesman Slayton Smith said in a statement.
“We are in the process of returning the thank you order(s) of each guest affected by our Rancho Cucamonga location. We sincerely apologize to every guest who ordered and came to the restaurant today.”
Rancho Cucamonga resident Joseph Amato called the situation “quite depressing.” He had pre-ordered his food last week and came to the store at 9:45 am on Thursday to pick it up.
“No email, nothing,” Amato said. “And there is food sitting there, food is sitting in the truck on the side, just waiting to see if anyone comes. Now everyone here is without food.
“I was really hoping to make it easier this Thanksgiving, not have to cook the whole dinner for the family,” he said. “Now I have to find Plan B.”
