The PRO party owner, Patricia Bullrich, sent this Tuesday a strong message to the heart of Together for Change, facing the definition of 2023, from Pinamar, where he presented a partisan booklet. “In 2019 we lost because we kept ideas in the closet“, he pointed.
The former Minister of Security was shown in the seaside resort with the thinker Santiago Kovadloff with whom he presentedour ideas”, a 48-page book that collects political reflections and accounts for the mobilization task in the PRO party since 2020, with the pandemic. It was edited by Fundación Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS).
“When we lost the elections we left the closet. And we began to think that our party and that our coalition had to deepen ideas that were the direction, the horizon, that expresses the mandate of a society”, affirmed Bullrich, in the meeting.
With a speech that asks to consolidate the internal work in PRO, Bullrich launched his speech before the attentive measure of the mayor of Pinamar, Martin Yeza, deputy Hernan Lombardi, and the former minister and intendant of Captain Sarmiento, Javier Iguacel.
The former minister deepened her self-criticism about the defeat against the Frente de Todos. “We were not the majority, I think, because we keep many ideas in the closet. If we had deployed them more, we would have passed that election”, he evaluated.
For the former head of Security, the defeat represented a new challenge. “Losing an election we decided something, that in the management we did little: we went out to the streets to fight and say that we did not give up,” he said.
Bullrich recorded that when Mauricio Macri chose her to lead the Pro match, he conveyed his thoughts on how to continue. “I said I want to drive un PRO to get out of marketing a bit and get into the hard debate of ideas”.
The referent, who whitewashed her presidential desire, asked “to take care of the opposition coalition. “Mauricio Macri managed to get the PRO is the third party in history that does not depend only on leadership, but of a great team spread throughout the country. That is what lasts,” he reasoned.
The former minister did not avoid referring in this line to the leaders who distanced themselves from Together for Change and alluded to the departure of the provincial deputy Natalia Sánchez Jáuregui, who went on to join the ranks of the Frente de Todos.
“When we made a mistake, with deputies who left, we almost lost everything we had won in the elections. We have no margin for error. The mandate of society is not to leave the ethical path, any other mandate is treason to the millions of Argentines who voted for us”, he pointed out.
The president of the PRO launched strong criticism of the administration of Alberto Fernández and emphasized the lack of presence in the educational system in the last two years.
Along these lines, he referred to the decision of several universities to require a health pass to attend face-to-face classes. “Again we are going to start… We doubt the possibility that the boys go to classes. The universities, many did not even open and want to make vaccination compulsory “, she expressed indignantly and continued: “What he wants is to continue working through Zoom”.
Bullrich recalled that he had confronted the businessman Alfredo Yabran, responsible for the murder of the photographer Joseph Louis Heads, of whose crime 25 years were fulfilled this Tuesday. And he did it to highlight the importance of overcoming the restrictions applied by Kirchnerism, whom he accused of curtailing freedoms.
“25 years ago a mobster killed Cabezas. I got into a fight with him; I faced. I was scared, but I had more decision. If fear overcame me, I had to leave political action”, he analyzed. The leader called claim to “regain freedom” and, citing the National Anthem, saying that it is necessary “break our chains”.
The leader recalled the case of santiago maldonado, mentioned that she was acquitted by Judge Gustavo Lleral and encouraged the Judiciary to resolve matters more decisively. “Judges have to be encouraged to act, to respect the law. The independence of Justice is to ensure that no factual and media power tells it what the law is like,” he emphasized.
