Encouraged by a third place in the polls, Patricia Bullrich jumped on the illegal dollar run to try to take center stage. He maintained that he stopped his campaign because of the price increase, but in fact the campaign continued in the form of a press conference where he accused Sergio Massa and Javier Milei of being responsible for what happened. “We are a responsible force. We will not set any fire,” said Bullrich, who was accompanied by Carlos Melconian and José Luis Espert.
The entire tone of the conference seeks to show that they are a space prepared to manage and that they seek to reassure the population in the face of Milei’s increasing departures. In fact, before the conference, Bullrich literally tweeted: “I want to give you peace of mind.”
At the conference, Bullrich began by blaming the currency issue on the rise of the illegal dollar: “Massa said that the worst is over. However, every day we see that fuel is wasted by printing banknotes , which creates a situation that destroys wages. and the income of Argentines. Fill the road with pesos and then pesos are worthless,” said Bullrich, with the precision that characterizes him every time he speaks part of the economy. Later, he attacked President Alberto Fernández and Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, because he said that Massa is “the only person in this government.”
He stated that due to the seriousness of the situation he suspended his campaign, but it is clear that the campaign is continuing in the conference. “We are facing a candidate who, instead of contributing, scares the savers,” Bullrich said of Milei, although he made it clear all the time that the responsibility for what is happening rests with Massa.
“Massa speculates that it happened after October 22. If the economy turns into a snowball, nothing can stop it,” Bullrich said.
