This past week alone, which was the best so far, fruit shipments totaled 11,149 tons, which is 45% less than the same week last year.
The Peruvian fresh blueberry campaign continues and is even lower than last season. At this time last year, the weekly shipment of the product has exceeded 20,000 tons, which has not been achieved in any week this year, because the maximum shipments do not exceed 12,000 tons.
So far in the campaign, shipments of this fruit have reached 89,785 tons, which is 50% less than in 2022. Only this past week, which was the best so far, the shipments of fruit amounted to 11,149 tons, which 45% less. than the same week last year.
In this same week, the product reached 23 destinations, which is greater than what was recorded last year. The main destinations are the United States, with 53% participation, the Netherlands, with 25%, and China, with 9%.
To the United States, Peru sent 5,927 tons, which is 52% less than last year, this decrease is one of the main reasons for the decrease in shipments, since this market is one of the most essential for the Peruvian blueberry. For their part, the leading Peruvian exporters are Camposol SA, with 15% participation, and Agrícola Cerro Prieto SA, with 10%.
Shipments to the Netherlands, for their part, totaled 2,754 tons; That is, 50% less than the same week in 2022. The exporters that are most prominent are Complejo Agroindustrial Beta SA, with a 20% share, and Agrovisión Perú SAC, with 12%.
Closing the podium is China, which obtained 997 tons, which is 89% higher than last year. However, this increase does not offset the fall in the primary buyer, as shipments to China are not as important as shipments to the North American market. The leading Peruvian exporters are Agrovisión Perú SAC, with 22% participation, and Agrícola Don Ricardo SAC, with 12%.
