The Pit-Cnt announced this Wednesday that it will hold a mobilization against the Argentine government of Javier Milei in support of the people of the neighboring country.
“We call on all unions and workers to express our solidarity and our rejection of counter-popular measures that threaten the lives, rights, and freedoms of workers and the people of Argentina in general,” said the union chief.
The demonstration will take place on Wednesday, the 24th, in front of the Argentine Embassy at around 1:00 pm, the same day as the national strike called by the unions in Argentina against the government of President Milei.
“Today, workers in Argentina are immersed in a complex scenario marked by a series of government measures that strongly affect work, rights, and freedoms, criminalizing protest and applying a harsh change that falls behind the people,” says the statement.
In addition, he says that “the Decree of Necessity and Urgency (DNU) and the Omnibus Law delegate great powers to the president, trampling on democracy and the fundamental values of a rule of law.”
On the other hand, Pit-Cnt criticized the “privatization of public companies, disinvestment in education, the dismantling of public services, criminalization of protest, and labor reform.”
