The Prime Ministers of both the countries and the heads of the companies responsible for the project implementation participated in the ceremony.
“This pipeline proves that north-south connections can strengthen security in three sea countries. (…) It is a pipeline of peace and security, in contrast to the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 pipelines, which are war. He led today’s crisis. Historically high gas prices are evidence of the failure of Germany’s energy policy,” said Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
“We were right about Russia’s intentions, we warned against energy blackmail. We made special investments to protect ourselves from these negative elements. This interconnector allows us to import gas from Italy also coming from Africa Today, thanks to the gas contracts signed 2- 3 years ago, we have cheap gas from the United States. This pipeline proves that the Visegrad Group is gaining its strength. We look to protect our region. Let’s work closely with our partners,” Moravetsky said.
The Prime Minister of Slovakia, Eduard Hager, in turn stated that “Russia’s unprecedented, brutal invasion of Ukraine showed that it could not be treated as a participant.” In addition to invading Ukraine, Russia declared a hybrid war on the European Union. One of the elements of this war is energy, he said, where preparations for a strike have been going on since last year, starting with the evacuation, not filling, of Gazprom’s gas storage facilities in Europe.
