This year has been very difficult for the Democratic Revolution, but it is a deep mistake to judge a twelve-year-old party involved in a longer struggle for a particular moment,” said President Boric.
she President Gabriel Boric asked not to judge Democratic Revolution for the Case of Covenants, during an anniversary event in the Frente Amplio community.
This is an event held this Saturday at the grand palace hotel, in the heart of Santiago, where the 12th anniversary of the ruling party is.
The ceremony was held in the presence of President Gabriel Boric, who for about fifteen minutes spoke a few words to the attendees.
On the occasion, the president called not to judge the Democratic Revolution, where classified as a specific event, referring to the Case of Covenants and the scandal that erupted in Living Democracy.
“This year has been very difficult for the Democratic Revolution, but it is a deep mistake to judge a twelve-year-old party involved in a longer struggle for a particular moment,” said President Boric.
“When it gets difficult, there are many people who decide to leave. It is precisely in difficult moments, when we need to put more heart, more conviction when we need to reaffirm the deep principles that inspire us,” he added.
In addition, President Boric said that he hopes that the parties of the Frente Amplio will unite to create a party that will allow the different political parties that makeup part of the ruling coalition to align.
“Last year they also invited me to attend the fourth anniversary of Social Convergence. I said at that time that I hoped this was the last anniversary and they were very angry, some told me that I turned a party into a funeral, but now I confirm again with more conviction than ever that the differences in identity that we can happen. there are, the different colors that may be on our flags, have nothing to do with facing the serious challenge that we are facing,” the head of state estimated.
“And I want to invite my colleagues to think about a game beyond the logic of the state,” Boric taught.
“For me, it is a pride to be on its twelfth anniversary, which again I hope will be the last, because only the unity and not the dispersion of the changing forces, will allow us to effectively change a reality that continues to hurt us and a unity that is not limited to the Frente Amplio,” he said.
“We spent a long time fighting the parties that are here today,” He noted, adding that “if we don’t work together, we will disappear or we will become managers.”
“I also want to invite you to have a conscious discipline and to make a party,” concluded President Boric.
